Petite Modeling: What Should You Wear to Your First modeling Photo Shoot?
If you're looking into making the petite modeling industry your career and are wondering what you should bring to your first photo shoot then this article is for you. Don't take this lightly. Your first impression needs to be a good one. You want to show the client that you will do whatever it takes to get the job done the way he wants it done. Usually the client will give you a list of what he needs you to wear. If you do not recieve a list of items you need to ask for one. This is very important to your career, if word gets out in the industry that you didn't do the job like the client wanted it done then other clients will be reluctant to hire you for future jobs. Always ask if you have not recieved a list of items, and be sure to bring exactly what the list says. For example if the client wants a white tee shirt be sure you bring a tee shirt with no logos. It seems small but many times wearing a logo is an endorsement of a product and clients are not looking to endorse other products. If you don't have what the client asks for you need to get it. That means buy or borrow it from a friend or family member. And always remember to bring more than the client asks for. Sometimes they want a slightly different look while in the heat of the photo shoot. It's better to have more than to think "shoot, I have that home in my closet, if only I'd thought to bring it." You should also be able to do your own makeup if necissary and bring both facial and body makeup. Many times on the set there is no one to do makeup so this falls to you. Go to a local salon and watch a professional apply makeup. You need to know how to do it professionally in case there is no one on the set to help you. Many times you will need to do touch ups throughout the shoot as well. Bring several shades of sheer nylons to the set. Even if you have great legs and a great tan the client may want a little smoother look. Don't count on anything being enough, always bring more than you think you'll need. Showing a clinet that you are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done could bring you more jobs from him in the future. Remember your reputation is very important as well, and you'd rather the client mention you on a positive note to another client than a negative one. Some general items to include at every photo shoot would be: Black and white heels (shoes) safety pins and hair pins clear nail polish (in case nylons run) at least 3 shades of brown tights (suntan, nude, biege) face and body makeup kit everything on the list of items the client has given you Emergency items; pain pills, tampons, reading material for breaks, water bottle, snacks, etc. Find out how to break into the petite modeling industry, and get your face in front of hundreds of clients looking for petite and average models at http://www.petite-modeling.info
